Holiday Events You Can’t Miss in Dallas, TX

With its beautiful skyline, numerous parks, and thriving arts culture, the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex is one of the nation’s best areas to celebrate the holidays. We’ve compiled a list of some of the can’t-miss holiday events around ArrowBrooke.

Dallas Symphony Orchestra

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra is consistently ranked as one of the nation’s best ensembles. Under the direction of Lawrence Oh, the DSO will be performing their crowd-favorite Christmas Pops repertoire through the month of December. Better yet, the Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas will sing alongside the DSO at matinee performances!

As always, the concerts will take place at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. Designed by renowned architect I.M. Pei, the concert hall is universally hailed as one of the world’s greatest. It is the perfect venue to experience holiday classics from a full symphony orchestra.

Dallas Zoo

Temperatures are dropping, and so is admission to the Dallas Zoo! Through February, the Dallas Zoo is dropping admission to $7 per person. Undoubtedly the highlight of winter at the Zoo will be the community of African penguins. Standing just two feet tall, the little birds are sure to waddle into everyone’s hearts.

In addition to the penguins, the Dallas Zoo is home to over 2,000 other fascinating animals. Parents and kids alike will have the opportunity to see animals from all over the world, from giraffes to giant turtles!

Nasher Sculpture Center

Nothing beats a downtown museum at Christmastime. This winter, the Nasher Sculpture Center is running a pair of special exhibitions featuring works from two of the world’s most prominent modern-day artists, Kathryn Andrews and Michael Dean. Andrews’ work blends pop art and history to create bright, powerful pieces. Dean is a British abstract sculptor whose art is noted for organic beauty.

In addition to the season exhibitions, the Nasher’s permanent collection features work from Alexander Calder and Pablo Picasso. The museum’s open spaces and outdoor garden make it the perfect location for a relaxing afternoon. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop; it’s one of the best around!

Dallas is never short of holiday events. Dallas is just a short drive away from our master-planned community, so residents have the opportunity to enjoy fun events like these.
